Burghausen is the castle with the longest fortress wall in Europe, and it is the longest castle in Europe.

It is the first castle that i have seen in Germany. It was in 2010, so something might have changed. The parking lot was at the entrance of the castleCurastraße, 84489 Burghausen

The website of the castle:  Burghausen

The working time: from 4th April to October- from 9 until 18 o'clock, in winter from 10 until 16 o'clock. There are no restrictions on shooting amateur photo/video equipment. Tickets: the full observation (The state museum in the castle, the city museum of Burghausen, the house of the photo) - 10 euros, children under 18- free. It is nearly 1 hour drive, 61 km from Bad Reichenhall. We were in the castle in winter, and it is bad(( The part of the rooms in the castle is closed in winter, they are not heated. All cafés are closed, so you can have a snack only outside the castle, but despite this, the impressions from the walk were positive.

We were the ONLY tourists in the castle then!!!

As we were told by the caretakers (among the staff was a woman who moved from the GDR and studied Russian), the best time to visit is may-June, the castle hosts a festival of flowers, everything is very beautiful, all the museums are open, cafes are open. The conclusion is if you like to see fortresses and castles; you should definitely visit this one.
