The beautiful and cozy Oberammergau is situated in 20 kilometers from the castle Lindaerhof (in 173 kilometers from Bad Reichenhall, 2 hours 10 minutes). In the 18th century, the artist Franz Josef Zwink turned the city houses into the illusion of three-dimensional halls with columns and spiral staircases. One may write a lot and tiresomely about the beauty, but you should better go there and see it)))
Also, this city is famous for its handicrafts. The local masters specialize in making carved compositions of Christmas Nativity scenes, crucifixions, wooden statuettes of the virgin Mary and other saints.
You should necessarily watch the theatre of the Passion of Christ. It is a functional building, but the acoustics here is magnificent. Behind the scene, one may look at the exhibition of the costumes and accessories, which are used in the show.
